Our Busy Weekends

I'm so glad for warm weather and every time we get a warm weekend so far we've stayed outside doing yard or garden work. Well, Dinesh STAYS outside working we kind of help and come out to play off and on. Anjali could stay out chasing butterflies all day, but poor Vaishali gets tired after a bit and says "I need to go in, I'm too tired". She'll go inside and then lay on the couch and ask for a cup of milk and a snack. While Anjali screams because she didn't want to go in.
Anyhoo, Friday night I got to take a date night out with Jacob while daddy stayed home and played with the girls. We went to Bob Evans to eat, walked around the mall, and then to the movies. We parked on the opposite side of the theater and when the movie was over found out they lock the mall entrance and had to walk all the way around outside late at night in the cold. We felt a little paranoid so I guess we had a little adventure in there. ;-)
Early Saturday morning we went to a huge yard sale with over 70 families participating, it was 2 streets full on both sides. I could have spent the entire day there but we had lots if work to do. The rest of the day was spent working in the garden planting potatoes, garlic, romain lettuce, and cabbage. And of course playing outside with the girls. In the evening we made a tent over the kitchen table, put in some Polly Pockets, books, and a flashlight and they played while I made dinner.
Sunday brought clouds and rain after lunch time so Dinesh and Jacob weeded out the flower beds and put out mulch in the morning. The girls and I worked in the house and went to the grocery store. The pool was cleaned and opened up this past week, its still too cold to swim, but pretty to look at. The hens are still growing and doing well and enjoying their larger run during the day.

The Playroom

Have I showed you my playroom? Oh, I can't remember and since it's clean now is good time! Why is it so bare? Well, the girls cannot keep it clean! I can spend an entire day in there sorting and changing out toys and give them 5 minutes and you have make a path to walk through the room. I've tried reducing the amount of toys each time I clean it and it hasn't helped much. Then yesterday I read an article about giving your kids too many toys hinders their creativity. Umm, sounds good for Mom but I myself like a lot of toys. I just don't like cleaning up a house full of them on a daily basis. So, for now I think I'm gonna limit the toys and try a daily rotation instead of weekly. I hope it makes for a cleaner playroom. We'll see? I do love this room, I had it painted a orange sherbet color and there's a lot of sunshine in this room. I also like that it has a door that I can close when I don't have time to deal with the mess.

Farm Work

It's been an outside farm work kinda weekend. We need to get our garden started so we've been busy planning and getting the land ready, trimming some bushes and clearing some areas, and Daddy also put some fencing around the hens coop so they can have more room during the day. The girls have been busy working along side us digging and playing. I grilled out dinner and today's lunch at one time yesterday evening. Oh how I love that. It's a time saver really as my little sister Miranda would say. Lol today were gonna plant a large corn field. I've always wanted to grow my own sweet corn. Woohoo I'm loving this farming stuff.

Feet

I love littles hands and feet! So, every now and again I try to capture them. This first pic is of Vaishali laying on me playing with her eyelashes drinking her milk. She does this when she goes to sleep. I think it's adorable. Next, is Anjali's hand resting on my leg and then our FEET! Last is mine and Jacob's feet. Yes, his feet are bigger than mine. Sigh, I guess this means I'm getting older. Ha! Love ;-)

Oh joyful spring...

...how I love the changing of the seasons. We have soaked up every bit of this warm weather. I've enjoyed quiet mornings on the porch before the kiddos wake up and then after their breakfast a full day outside. Yesterday I even got a little sunburn. I've spent a lot if time day dreaming about planting our garden and canning and such. Hopefully we can get that started in the next few weeks. Here's a few pics of our days spent outside.

Sunshine & Warm Air

Finally, some warm air and sunshine has made it's way to Maryland. I'm so happy that I was able to get out of the bed today and enjoy it with the kids. Unfortunately Christian is getting ready to board a plane back to NC for the summer. He's gonna think it never gets warm here. After a very long wait, our chicken coop finally made its way here earlier in the week and Dinesh and Christian put it up. It's so pretty and I'm so glad to have those stinking chicks out of the basement!

Happy Easter!!!

Oh, I just love this picture! Everyone's expression and the first ever of everyone looking at the camera. Well, maybe Christian isn't looking but that face he's making...priceless. Haha! Easter was an easy day around here. We got up, had panycakes, everyone bathed and got dressed up for pictures, and then off to Golden Corall for lunch. Yep, that's right I didn't cook. It's about an hours drive for us to go to Golden Corall and I thought very few people would be there, but I was wrong. That place was packed! Anyway, we came home and took a nap, then got up to play and later start dinner, complete with chocolate bunny cake. Yum!
