First Day of School 2013

Last Thursday I started student teaching at a preschool.  The girls will be attending the same school and they're so excited!  Anjali spent the week before carrying her backpack around from morning until night and then sleeping with it!  Here's a first day pic at 3 1/2 (almost 4)

Morning Play Time

Ahh, today is a most beautiful day here in north Maryland!  The sun is shining, not a cloud in sight, it's cool and breezy, the birds are chirping,  the hens are clucking, everything is green and the irises are in full bloom.  It doesn't get any better than this.  I have so much work to do in the house, but we wanna stay outside to enjoy this weather as much as we can! So, out to the front porch we went.  We have a great many mini pumpkins already here on the farm and the girls ask to paint some.  Below is a pic of Vaishali giving me a thumbs up saying "mommy you're awesome". Then I created a Pinterest inspired idea.  A play river made from aluminum foil.  A big hit with the kiddos, but next time I do this I'll get heavy duty foil.  The regular is a little flimsy, but still fun.
Yesterday evening Dinesh and I worked on canning tomatoes and making cucumber bread and muffins.  The girls loved them!  I think ill be making this a lot every summer.
And a great big thanks to our neighbor Brianna! She came over Saturday to get the girls and played with them for a couple of hours while me and Dinesh got some work done around the house.  They were so tired when they came home they slept for over 2 hours! They even brought back flowers for momma. It was a great and restful weekend.

Peter Rabbit!

I love the Beatrice Potter stories of Flopsy, Mopsy, Cottintail & Peter, and so do the girls.  We have an awesome library system here in our County and were happy to find they were having a puppet theater show featuring those characters.  I told the girls about it last night, so naturally they woke up asking about it.  They are so excited and we had so much fun discovering the new to us Finksburg library.  Last Friday we attended a little carnival at our YMCA, and I hope to attend the 4H fair at the agriculture center next week.  For such a small farm town we do manage to find lots of fun stuff to do near home.  Today the weather was cool and breezy.  A windows open kind of day,  my favorite!  The girl's are taking their evening walk with daddy while I sit on the porch enjoying the quiet, breezy weather and breathtaking views. It has been a great summer!

Sunday Scripture no. 2

2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; the new has come.
For so long I had a hard time understanding this, and I don't know how to explain it, but it has all come together for me today. I can only say that I guess it has to be the most important thing to you; you can not simply say I want to be different, and then wonder why God hasn't made you different.

Sunday Scripture

Every Sunday at church we're given a scripture to memorize for the week.  It goes along with whatever topic the sermon was about.  So often I find that once Sunday is over I have totally forgotten what the sermon was about,  but given the scripture to memorize for the week brings it back to memory.  I have started posting it on my bathroom and on my fridge so that I will see it many times throughout the day.  I'm also going to post it here every week so that I can go back and look at them. This week's verse is:

Philippians 4:6 Do not be anxious about anything.

Sundays are becoming my favorite day of the week.  Since we don't have to be at church until 11:00 we don't have to wake up any earlier than we normally would.  We have cereal and get ready.  When church is over we either eat out our have something quick like sandwiches.  And then. ..I have a nice nap while daddy spends time with the girls.  Ahh, such a restful day.
For fun I took some pictures of flowers in our flower beds this evening after dinner while sitting on the porch.  It had just finished storming and felt so good outside.

Cleaning? !

Noooo! I want to decorate! I really should be cleaning, but I decided to decorate my hallway instead.  Okay,  well I did clean the laundry room, however I just can't seem to get motivated to clean those same rooms that need to be cleaned EVERY SINGLE DAY. You know, the kitchen, family room, entry way, and such. So boring, guess I better get started <insert the voice of eeyore>.

Happy Summer!

Umm, we've been busy having fun.  I have so much to post, but it seems like if we're not working or playing around here, it's because we're exhausted!  This has been a wonderful summer so far.  We've been to stay at a beautiful resort in Florida, spent an exciting day at Disney World, played in our pool, been to visit Baughers farm, and spent a lot of time working on our own farm, and the girls and I have found a wonderful church to attend very close to home.  The boys have both left for the summer to NC:-( but Christian is coming back to visit for a week next week along with Mom, Mike & Miranda. And with them were gonna spend a day at Hershey Park, a place I went to as a teenager.  Christian has been there once but this will be the girls first time going.  First time of many I'm sure since it's fairly close to home.  I hope to also visit Amish country too sometime soon since it's also close to home and a place I dearly love.  Hopefully I'll have time to post some of the hundreds of pics we've taken over the last month, but for today there is lots of housework, laundry, and fun to be had.  The girls discovered Snow White today and wanted to watch the movie twice! Umm, no that's a lot of tv at once.  So, we made Snow White dolls and got dressed up, as tinkerbell & red riding hood, and went outside to play. And there is also a pic I took the other day of veggies picked from our garden.  I made taco salad and it was yummy!  Hope everyone is busy making the most of summer:-))

Gearing up for Memorial Day weekend...
